Training:Starting a Phytophthora infestans collection and learning how to phenotype this pathogen November 25-29, Yanqing China

AsiaBlight is an inclusive network of scientists, government officials, companies, farmers, institutes and other stakeholders working towards improving the management of potato late blight (Phytophthora infestans) in Asia.

The aims of AsiaBlight’s training is to share information, knowledge and technology, promote collaborations and research among late blight stakeholders in Asia.

WILMER PEREZ

Wilmer is an associate scientist and agronomist from Peru with a master’s degree in Phytopathology, specialized in Crop Protection. He has many years of experience training national and international professionals, technicians and farmers. Besides Wilmer’s field and lab experience, he actively develops computer programs for the epidemiological study of plant diseases. Wilmer participates in national and international projects and networks with other related institutes, national programs and non-governmental organizations. His scientific experience includes plant pathology in Andean roots and tubers, mycology, and genetic improvement of plants. Additionally, Wilmer is a plant pathology consultant and an evaluator of applied and adaptive research, and an evaluator of technology transfer projects in governmental institutions.

Registration fees cover the following:

  • Lectures for the 5 days of the workshop
  • All laboratory consumables and reagents needed for the workshop during the 5 days

  • A personal diploma for every attendee

Registration fees don’t cover the following:

  • Transportation to and from Yanqing
